Collect Contacts Through Google Forms
This article will show you the steps for collecting contact information through Google Forms.
Create your Google Form and List before proceeding.
Google Form question fields like first name, last name, and phone number need to be lowercase to populate responses properly.
Navigate to Integrations by selecting "Integrations" on the left-hand side of the TextSpot application.
Log in or sign up for Zapier. It's free.
Select "Create Workflow."
Select "Trigger."
Search and select "Google Forms."
Choose a trigger event. Select "New Form Response."
Select "Sign In," choose your Google Forms account, and select "Continue."
Configure by selecting the Google Form you are collecting contact information from.
Make sure the form is connected to your account by selecting "Test Trigger." You must have at least one form response to test it.
You will now see the 3 most recent form submissions. Click one and "Continue with selected record."
You will automatically be prompted to connect to another app. Search and select "TextSpot."
Select an Action Event. In this case, we will be moving forward with "Add Contact to List."
Click "Select an account," choose your TextSpot account, and select "Continue."
Configure by selecting the "+" next to each field and choosing the corresponding Google Form field.
Select which list you want to add these contacts to by searching or scrolling. Select "Continue."
Test this step by selecting "Test Step."
If there is an error, check your Google Form to make sure the name and phone number fields are lowercase (see screenshot at the top of the article).
If successful, you will be given the option to make the workflow live. Select "Publish."
You did it!
It may take a few minutes for contacts to be added to your list after they fill out the form. Refresh your browser and check your list for new contacts.
