Why Do I Need a Privacy Policy If I Only Use TextSpot for My Internal Team?

If your organization is anything other than a sole proprietorship, you've likely received an email from us about updating/adding a privacy policy.

Even though you will only be using TextSpot for your internal team, we can't prove that to Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and the Campaign Registry.

The safest path is to add the Privacy Policy language to your website. Unfortunately, due to many other bad actors in the past that abuse text messaging, reviewers have become incredibly skeptical of any potential unauthorized usage of phone numbers and will automatically deny a campaign if it doesn't meet the requirements.

They will still review your website to see if you have a privacy policy disclosing how phone numbers are managed.

You might even be required to update your contact form.

If you are completely unable to update your website, there might be another way for us to get you verified.

Here is an article with more details on why you may be required to add/update a Privacy Policy.
